Video Consulting / Training / Support

Dave Knode has been providing these valuable services to several companies, churches, universities, and organizations since the advent of reliable computer based editing. An expert in Macintosh based Media 100 and Final Cut editing system design & support, coupled with an extensive background in all phases of audio, lighting, and video production, make Dave the best choice for your organization. Specific areas of expertise include the following:

Consulting Overall production and systems planning that includes: overall scheduling and workflow, specifying equipment, vendor selection, on-site setup and installation or supervision. All with an emphasis on purpose driven, economical, end to end solutions. Solutions that make the absolute best sense, in the near and long term. Systems that are upgradable, and will scale with you as you grow.
CSS routinely picks up the pieces after an organization has purchased a "turn-key" system from a dealer that has not worked out to be all that they were sold.

CSS is not a dealer of any products. Dave makes his living providing honest, unbiased advice and recomendations. All based on experience using these systems in the real world.
Then he stands behind his reccomendations with training and support to bridge the gap from having the right equipment, to being able to use the equipment to achieve your organization's goals.

Training Purchasing good equipment can be the easy part. But fully utilizing what you have to create the best possible product or presentation is where CSS really excels. Training your team to use your equipment, from planning productions and shooting, to editing and graphics. Knowledge can make the difference between an enjoyable impressive production and a nightmare production that only yields a mediocre result. CSS provides training in all phases of sound lighting and video production.

Of particular interest to most clients is training on non-linear editing and graphics systems like Final Cut Pro/Express, LiveType, Adobe After Effects & Photoshop, and DVD authoring programs like DVD Studio Pro & even iDVD.

Most of these powerful software packages require several hours of instruction and practice to instill a confidence in the user. All training can be done on-site, while working on your system, to create your specific video product or broadcast. Dave is happy to schedule training sessions that coincide with your production schedule. So you can immediately begin producing videos. While learning the processes at a humane pace.

You don't have to use CSS to purchase your systems in order to take advantage of our training. Dave can train you to get the most out of your investments no matter who you purchased them from.

Support Everyone would agree that integrating sound, lighting, and modern video equipment to capture and produce a polished video product or broadcast can be a complicated endeavor. Many opportunities for technical gliches can crop up through the process. CSS stands firmly behind our clients with on-site, internet based, and telephone support. Wether it's answering a quick question about how to perform a particular action in the editing process, to stepping in with outside resources to assist you in making your production deadlines, Dave Knode is typically only a phone call away.

Other support resources require annual fees, or only provide support during California business hours. Our clients can testify to the after hours or heroic efforts that have been made to help them in their time of great distress, frustration, or looming deadlines.

Systems that CSS has provided are all hand delivered, setup, and software loaded with painstaking detail to insure that our clients receive the most trouble free systems possible. Because of this individual attention, CSS can offer troubleshooting assistance that is unparalleled. We know our clients systems inside and out.

When providing video support for events, CSS was often called upon to provideLite 102.9 Spot static, and motion graphics to support the event. Sometimes this means sponsor logos, speaker outlines, or wallpaper on the screens before and after an event. Due to the highly graphical nature of television today, video producers and production companies are now utilizing more outside graphics resources than ever. CSS is ready to meet those needs should they arise for you. The video post and graphics services of CSS have been seen on ESPN, INSP, Word Network, ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.

The 2005 Charlotte Shout spots are the best ever. Leave it to the creative folks to understand that "less is more".  These spots are straight to the point and they are compelling by their simplicity thanks to great music and clever visuals.

WBTV will be proud to feature these spots during September and we're looking forward to contributing to a great month of arts, entertainment and food.

Proof of concept: The video above was shot with a single camera locked off in the above wide shot. All shots and camera moves were composed entirely in post using pan/scan techniques. There were no camera operators and all audio was captured by the built in camera mic. It's amazing what can be done in post.
